Acts in the office

ENT is a varied specialty because it is located at a crossroads, aero-digestive: it is therefore interested in Diseases of the nose, throat, ear but also in the broader pathology of the head and neck including the surgical side.

The extended hospital training, first by the day school then the Internat and finally the Clinicat allows to acquire varied skills, medico-surgical in many areas of this region.

The pathologies treated in the practice are

  • Common ENT medical conditions, often in an acute context: blocked or painful ear (otalgia or otitis) dizziness, tinnitus, stuffy nose, rhinitis, sinusitis, nasopharyngitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, tracheitis, tracheobronchitis.
  • Pathologies a little less known or a little rarer: facial paralysis, system pathologies with ENT manifestations, pathology linked to reflux, disorders of the temporomandibular joint, SLEEP disorders (snoring, apnea), pathology of salivary glands, thyroid, traumatic pathology of the face...

Surgery can therefore be of interest in the following areas:

The nose and the sinuses

Stuffy nose (by skeletal anomaly: septum deviation, bony hypertrophy of the turbinates or contents: swelling of the mucous membranes by allergy, stress, pollution involving the turbinates, sometimes the back of the nose = cavum or nasopharynx)

Chronic sinusitis and its frequent links with bronchopulmonary pathology, including asthma: surgery having greatly benefited in recent years from video-endoscopy and progress in optics

Deformities of the external skeleton and their corrections: rhinoplasties or rhinoptoplasties

The ear

Otology: surgery of the outer ear (malformations, protruding ears, skin tumours), medium (chronic otitis, serous otitis, aerators, cholesteatoma, otosclerosis,) and internal

Otoneurosurgery: surgery of the inner ear, middle ear and temporal bone to treat intracranial or skull base pathologies.

The throat (Pharynx)

Interventions on the tonsils, the soft palate, the vocal cords (polyps, malformations = phonosurgery)

neck and face

Treatments of the thyroid and parathyroids, lymph nodes, salivary glands (parotid, submaxillary..)

Some acts can be performed under local anesthesia in the office (laser, radio-frequency, facial injections, etc.) others require an operating room in the clinic under general anesthesia.
